Hamas Cell Busted in the West Bank was Headed by Shalit-deal Veteran

Underscoring the depth of Hamas infiltration into the West Bank, Israeli security agents have arrested five members of a terror cell planning an attack with an automatic weapon. The group’s ringleader, Abdullah Arar, served time in an Israeli prison for a kidnapping/murder until he was released as part of the deal Israel cut with the Hamas terrorist organization for the repatriation of soldier Gilad Shalit in 2011. Arar, like others among the 1,000 prisoners released, promptly returned to the active ranks of Hamas. Notable about the arrests made on Monday was that it provided another example of Hamas infiltration into the West Bank – a clear threat not only to Israelis, but to Palestinians and the Palestinian Authority for whom the West Bank is home territory.
